Watercolor Hello 3 Ways

by | Jan 27, 2016 | Blog, Challenge Entry, Foiling, Happy Thoughts, Shaker, Simon Says Stamp, Watercolor

Watercolor is one of the most fun techniques. I am only decent at the abstract, but I’ll take that (for now). These cards were pretty straight forward to make. Splash a little Hydrus watercolor across the paper, throw a little Finetec on top of that, insert a shaker there, and you have something pretty spectacular all on its own. If you notice, these cards are all intertwined. I took portions from one and added to the other. When you are making cards, don’t throw away the extra pieces. Often they can be applied to another card for double (or in this case, thrice), the pleasure! I hope you get time to wallow in a bit of your own Creative Bliss today!

I am submitting these cards as an entry into the Little Tangles Challenge. Get your creative out and play along! You can find and follow this specific Hello challenge here or the entire blog here. Check out all the entries, so inspiring!

These beauties also happen to fit the Lawnscaping Challenge. Bonus! Although, these challenges are so fun, if I had a few more hours in each day, I would make individual cards for them all! You can follow the Lawnscaping Watercolor Challenge here or you can follow their whole blog here. More inspiring entries, check them out!

Lastly, I am adding them to the Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge #37 and Wednesday Blog Challenge. Using Flickr is new to me, so we’ll see if I am successful, haha! You can follow the Simons Says Stamp Flickr Challenge here, Wednesday Blog Challenge here or you can follow their store blog here. I am sure their will be a ton of great entires, be sure to take a peek!

(***Update*** Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner! These cards won for SSS Flickr Challenge #37. Yay, happy dance all around!)

All three cards are gorgeous. I am taking the Online Card Class Intermediate Water coloring. So much info my head is spinning. Have a great day.

    • Janette

That class looks awesome! I didn’t sign up for it while it is live because I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to catch up. I plan to take it after the live class is complete. I am seeing tons of great work coming from it!

Hi. I saw your cards on Instagram and you said you got rid of the warpage thanks to your Minc. How? I would like to know because I have that problem no matter what I do. Your cards are so beautiful. I love watercolor and shakers and flowers…lol. Anyway, drop me a line.

    • Janette

Cynthia, once the paper fully dried I just ran it through my Minc, no cover folder or anything. Sometimes I do more than one pass. I use the hottest (5) setting. I probably use it more this way than for foiling! Works awesome!

      Thanks for visiting and inquiring!

  3. Katherine

      Thank you!

  4. Roselee

These are 3 gorgeous cards. Makes me want to go buy a Minc!

Lin, Thank you. I really had fun making them. Inspiration came easily with that die! I went and posted them over in the December gallery. Thanks for the tip!
