Hello there, crafty friends! Today is a great day. It is Hero Arts My Monthly Hero card kit release day – YAY! This kit is loaded with so much sunshine and happiness that I even made a video. Woohoo! If you’ve been around here much you know that it not a regular occurrence as much as I’d like it to be. In today’s video I have made not only a fun shaker card, but wax seals from clear stamps and dies. Yes, you read that right!
Kit availability and shipping: Hero Arts remains closed due to the shelter-in-place order. We have only limited capabilities at this time. Currently we estimate that shipping will begin on May 15, and continue until all boxes have shipped. We are so appreciative that so many have continued to order despite knowing we have long delays. Thank you for your patience, support, and kind wishes. It means the world to us, and we send love and appreciation your way. The kit is available for a limited time only – once it’s gone, it’s gone. Subscribe to receive the kit monthly and never miss one! United States kit subscribers receive free shipping on anything added to your kit order prior to it shipping (Thursday, 12:00PM PT the week of launch, normally. During exceptional times, that date is usually extended. Please see the Hero Arts website for the official word.). International subscribers receive a discounted shipping rate for both the kit and any add-ons included as well. The discounted rate differs by country.

This Month's Add-On Collection

For the most complete instructions please view the YouTube video tutorial found below or HERE.
To recreate a project like this, begin by die cutting the clouds from Cloudy Sky Scene from masking paper. Then, ink blend with the masking clouds and a scant A2 Dove White cardstock panel with Neon Blue and Aegean inks.
Die cut an Infinity Circle from Hero’s main line, and the paper airplane and hello banner from this month’s kit.
Stamp kit rainbow in Moonstone pigment ink and emboss with Ultra Fine Clear embossing powder on Smooth Bristol cardstock, no embossing ink needed! Moonstone stamps out a charcoal grey, but when heat embossed it depends to a rich black. Color rainbow with Cerise, Amber, Gold, and Grass Karin BrushmarkerPro watercolor markers. Add a touch of Sky Blue to the clouds.
Dry fit and center cloudy blended panel over A2 Dove White cardstock. Adhere die cut circle from same panel in place aligining clouds.
You can find a full list of project supplies HERE.

Turn ink blended cloudy panel to back and adhere acetate over windows. Build sectioned shaker walls around each element, 2 layers of foam tape thick. Trim foam tape in quarters, as needed. Place 2 layers of foam tape throughout remaining area to a flush, sturdy shaker card. Fill paper airplane and hello banner wells with Ombré Sunshine sequins full, but not bulging. Seal those areas shut with Canary cardstock. Add a generous amount of rainbow colored sequins (I mixed my own with a variety of Hero Arts sequins) and place atop previously adhered cloudy circle. Add Precision Glue to all exposed adhesive on the back of the foam taped shaker panel. The liquid glue allows for a touch of wiggle room to align the shaker panel perfectly over the cloudy circle background.
Die cut a paper airplane from Canary cardstock and adhere offset to its coordinating die cut on the front of the card. Heat emboss Azalea sentiment strip in white detail embossing powder. Adhere sentiment strip and fussy cut rainbow in place, tucking part of the cloud behind the sentiment.
Adhere finished shaker to folded card base.
For the most complete instructions on creating the shaker card and how I made wax seals with the kit’s clear stamps and dies, please watch the video tutorial above. If you are having any trouble viewing the video, find it in HD on YouTube HERE.

This card was created from an oopsie background. It was still so pretty that I couldn’t let it go to waste! Review the instructions to create the background with the Cloudy Sky Scene dies with the shaker card above, but without the mistake (can you find it?), or view the YouTube video tutorial I’ve created HERE.
Die cut the US Mailbox from Cherry cardstock and ink blend with Raspberry Jam.

Die cut envelopes from Dove White cardstock. Adhere mailbox flat to cloudy background and tuck envelopes inside with Precision Glue. Adhere a few birdies from the Cloudy Sky Scene die set.
White Detail heat emboss sentiment from this month’s kit on Pitch Black cardstock and pop in place with foam tape. Adhere finished panel to folded card base. Learn to create the envelope wax seal from the US Mailbox die set in the YouTube video tutorial found above or HERE at the 23 minute mark.
A full project supply list is linked HERE.

I created this card, with the kit, for the Countdown to Creativity over on the Hero Arts blog. You can find all the details for it HERE.
