Complete September 2018 Washi Tape Release
So many of these tapes are coming to live with me. They can be used in a multitude of ways within cardmaking to home decor. I can’t wait to put them all to use! Snag the complete set below for a 5% discount using the bundle link.
Gold foil accents can never go wrong in cardmaking! This set of cards features Altenew’s purplicious and gold Gilded Ombre Washi Tape, Mega Happy and Mega You dies, and Mega Greetings 2 and Inked Flora stamps sets.
The short video tutorial below gives you the full how-to on just how easy these cards are.
Apply Gilded Ombre Washi Tape to heavyweight white cardstock and die cut with Mega You and Happy dies. Position dies for maximum benefit of the gold foil accent. The You card was inspired by a recent Altenew Academy Class I took, Impressive Heat Embossing. The class entails techniques on several ways to enhance embossing with vellum, ombre effects, and color layering stamps. You can also use heat embossing as an accent to help amplify the focal point of the card, as I did here.
The Happy card features a column of birthdays all stamped in black, except for one stand alone that is heat embossed. Happy itself is popped up thanks to two more identical die cuts in white that are stacked and adhered together. This card is also framed by a way cool washi tape border put together wall paper style.
The quick video above provides a complete tutorial of both cards, including the washi border.

The look of handprinted watercolor flowers without lifting a brush? That is something I can get behind! These cards are a breeze with a little fussy cutting by hand or with the assistance of an electronic cutting machine. I put my Brother Scan N Cut 2 to good use creating these sweet cards.
Though, just applying the Painted Fantasy Washi Tape to a card panel makes a gorgeous background that then only needs sentiment and a card base to be complete.
Take a look at the video below for a tutorial on how I employed my Scan N Cut to make these beauties. I choose easy, thank you!
Begin by applying Painted Fantasy Washi Tape to heavyweight white cardstock. Hand fussy cut floral images or run through a Scan N Cut machine. I trace images on a layer of tracing paper to ensure perfect cuts. Electronic cutting machines don’t always pick up images exactly how we want them to, so in the video I walk through steps on how to get the image we are looking for.
Combine floral images with large sentiment die cuts, Thinking of You and You are Loved. Spice up the sentiments with glitter cardstock, Wink of Stella or Nuvo Crystal Glaze. Apply to folded card bases and pop in the mail to send a bit of sunshine.
