Simon Says Stamp has the most awesome monthly card kit program. I look forward to its release each and every month. It always includes an original SSS stamp set, 6″ x 6″ papers, 8 1/2″ x 11″ cardstock and a myriad of other embellishments. For $29.95 as a one time price, it can only be beat by its own monthly subscription which comes in 5 bucks cheaper at $24.95. I was able to make 8 cards so far (not all pictured) and have 3 more in the works with quite a bit of product left over. That is a pretty good value for me.
Another bonus, for me, is sometimes my mojo leaves in mass exodus. When that happens, I case a card I have admired by someone else and recreate it. The day I decided to work on this card, I wasn’t feeling particularly creative. Maybe because laundry was calling, kids were under feet, animals needed tending, blah, blah, blah. It certainly wasn’t for lack of great product. Sometimes it is just merely getting started that seems to be the culprit. In this instance, I cased a card made by Debbie Hughes of Lime Doodle Design. It is the last card in the bunch below. I mean, come on, why would you not case that card?!? Work smarter, not harder! From there, I jumped out into my own designs.
Simon Says Stamp encloses a bundle of creative inspiration with each monthly card kit. You can also follow their blog and their Instagram for more. TIP: utilize those hashtags! That is what they are for! Check out #sssck and #ssscardkit. Be sure to include them on photos you upload too. Oh, and lastly, check out the Simon Says Stamp Flickr group. You may find inspiration based on their challenge qualifications too! I have uploaded a few here to Challenge #42.
