Hiya, friends! I’m popping in to share a fun interactive card created with a few great Spellbinders products. If you’ve been around here long you know I am a fan of the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System. I return to it again and again. For this project I paired up the new Glimmer Snarky Hearts, Festive Wreaths Slider and Floral Love to create a card that does not open traditionally, but slides up to reveal a seed packet! I can’t wait to give it to a gardening loving friend!
Create card by ink blending Crimson and Fresh Peach inks together on opposite corners on a slightly oversized A2 White cardstock panel. Stamp Floral Love (on sale for $3.59 as I type!) in Black over the blending. Die cut with Festive Wreaths Slider with folding insert all in one swoop. Die cut a second, just white panel without the insert. Then cut the tag portion, from white, to create the tag portion the pulls up from the card. Stamp sentiment on tag in black. Instructions are included on the slider packaging making it a breeze. Assemble together as directed.
If you are adding a seed packet, like I did, adhere an extra layer of cardstock down the two sides and bottom of the card, sandwiched between front and back panels. It creates a well for the seed packet to sit in without the finished card bulging.
Die cut two circle halves, a few leaf and heart embellishments from the slider kit in black. Then Glimmer Hot Foil the Snarky Hearts of your choosing. They come in a set of 8 with fun conversation style text and a coordinating die. Foil hearts in Rose Gold, Pink and Magenta. I even flipped one of the hearts to the back to create a solid foiled heart with no text. Die cut each heart and adhere to circle halves that have been assembled together. Then adhere the bottom half of the circle to the slider portion of the card allowing the top half to remain free to stand upright when slid.
Attach seed packet – which was absolutely perfectly sized, by the way – with removable adhesive if necessary. I did not attach mine. The packet slides out just fine because the slider portion is attached to the tag pull portion and creates an enclosure for the packet. Tie twine to top of tag to complete project.
Such a fun project! I’m thinking of setting this up assembly line style and creating Valentines for my two younger girls’ classmates with seed packets included. Wouldn’t that just be darling!?!
Oh, and before I forget… the Festive Wreaths Slider was the June 2019 edition of the Spellbinders Large Die of the Month Club Kit. It could sell out at anytime, not to be restocked. If you are in love – now is a great time to purchase!
