Spellbinders Glimmer Christmas

by | Aug 19, 2020 | Backgrounds, Blog, Foiling, Happy Thoughts, Holiday, Spellbinders

Hello, friends! I am dropping in for a quick post to share a couple of Glimmer Hot Foil projects with you and let you know of Spellbinders fab sale – as if we needed any more reason to shop! Spellbinders is offering $25 off of a $100 sale AND free shipping. I’ve already done filled my cart and checked out. I promise I left great things there for you too!

I love to Hot Foil! Whenever I get the Glimmer Hot Foil system out I go to town creating several projects. The more I use it the more I love it!

Find a full supply list HERE.

Recreate this project by Matte Silver hot foiling a scant A2 110# white Neenah panel with the Christmas Foliage Background Glimmer Plate. The full card takes two passes, but that also increases its versatility by giving more creative options!

Hot Foil the Christmas Organic Foliage with a combination of Red and Moondust Glimmer Hot Foils. Then die cut images with included matching dies. Arrange and adhere swag, then Matte Silver hot foil the sentiment on Pitch Black cardstock. Pop sentiment up with dimensional adhesive and then adhere finished card to folded card base.

Oh my goodness, this card was such snap. I usually don’t mass produce my Christmas cards, but I just might with this project this year!

Find a full supply list HERE.

Recreate this project by Silver Holographic hot foiling the Snowflake Sparkle Background on Mist cardstock. I cut a generous semi-A2 sized panel, foiled, and then trimmed down to an actual A2 size. If you are not Type A, like I am, then just starting with an A2 cardstock panel would suffice just fine – and it does me most of the time too. There always just seems to be that one that gets crazy – like the last one, after a dozen perfect ones, when you’re already running late!

Die cut circle from center of snowflake panel. Hot foil Making Spirits Bright in Red, on white cardstock (great scrap buster!). Flip snowflake panel to back and follow the circle with 1/4″ wide foam tape, then the border of the card. You guys, I am tired of trimming my foam tape narrower. I just finally bought 1/4″ wide foam tape. I don’t know what took me so long, but I am sure thankful I finally did! Anywho – then turn panel to front and adhere snowflakes over red sentiment. Adhere finished panel to folded card base.

TIP: When adhering around curved shapes remove the backer tape as you go. The backer is what keeps the tape rigid. Taking it off allows for the tape to follow circles and curves and saves a ton of time.

Thank you for spending a few minutes with me today! The Spellbinders sale is on though this Sunday, August 23rd – if you’d like to check it out. Enjoy a fantastic day and happy crafting!

xo, Janette
