Happy Fri-Yay, friends! Today I have a fun pop-up project to share with you! Spellbinders has several monthly kits available and one is the Large Die of the Month Kit Club. It rings in at $25 per month. The March kit includes 15 dies: 2 sentiment banner dies, a frame, the pop up base and expandable portion, a set of 3 leaves, a components for several different flower shapes. So cute!
I created an A2 sized card, as per my usual. The expandable pop up die can be used to create the actual pop-up unit or a band that can slide on to keep the card closed and off to allow for the pop-up action. Instead of glueing the front and back piece accordion style, I snipped off a flap and adhered it flat so that it is just a simple band to slip on and off the card.
I cut the sentiment into the slip on band, and stacked a few adhered on top of it on the interior as a pop-up. Lots of flexibility!
The pop-up creation itself was easier than one might think. Yana Smakula has created a quick and easy assembly video HERE. I’ve used solid colored cardstock for the entire project… and no stamping on this project! What?!? I kept the front of the card quite simple with just a dry embossed white panel, a few flowers, and the band to keep the interior as the star. I did make each of the flowers and the pop-up double sided so that no matter how you look at it, it is outstanding! (Ha, see what I did there?)
As with many monthly kits, once this is gone – it is gone. If you are interested I encourage you to click through to purchase sooner rather than later. I suspect this kit is going to be a hit!
Thank you for joining me today. See you soon!
