Hey here, hi there, friends! I am popping in right quick today to share a die set by Spellbinders Paper Arts that is full of dimension with very little work. The die itself creates the life in the look. All I had to do was a few simple Z folds on already scored and slit lines!
The Heart Melange Doily die will create 3 hearts with one pass. The third heart has a separate center section. When in place it looks just like the other 2. When out, it has a solid center. The center removable piece of the third heart can also stand alone for intricate die cutting detail anywhere. So many possibilities! I went with whimsical for this project, but this die could swing all the way toward a wedding, easily!
TIP: use scraps of solid or patterned cardstock to stretch your supplies!
Create a Z fold on each side of each die cut heart on the scored and perforated lines. Use a bone folder to crisp the folds. Slip one heart into the next and secure together. I prefer Precision liquid glue, but a a dry tape adhesive would work as well.
Score a line 1/4″ in around the top, right side and bottom of an A2 (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″) white cardstock panel. Adhere connected melange hearts in place. White heat emboss Thanks sentiment onto Pitch Black cardstock and adhere in place with dimensional adhesive. Finish card by attaching to folded card base.
Completing the card in this way does give it some height so mailing in a regular envelope could be precarious. One could either mail in small box or slide the die cuts together in the same way, but with no folds, creating a flat card. It is a slightly different look, but very cool as well, extending its versatility even further!
