You guys, I whipped together a couple of quick cards with what might be my favorite Hero Arts February Add-On, Come Fly with Me. Life is too short to work with products I don’t like, so you won’t find any of that here. What you will find today is 2 cards created in under 40 minutes total. Come Fly with Me is an encouragement clear stamp set with sentiments like Be Free, Dream, With Brave Wings She Flies, Let Your Dreams Take Flight and more. Awesome stamps sets don’t require a ton of time, just a few simple techniques to allow the image and sentiments to take center stage.
This first card was created easily thanks to the Misti Precision Stamp Tool. I used antistatic powder over the Bristol panel, masked the fly aways, and inked the feather with Versamark. After gold heat embossing the feather only, I left the stamp in place on the lid of the Misti and cleaned it throughly with Hero Arts Ultra Clean (the best stamp cleaner on the market, in my opinion!), swiped it with a damp absorber and blotted it dry. With one color at a time I used a rainbow of Tombow Dual Brush Markers to color each of the fly aways and stamped them each 2x. I finished the Bristol framing mat by coloring with each of the same markers, in rainbow order, diagonally across the areas of the panel that would show. I then quickly ran a water brush over them to meld the colors together. I ran the damp panel through my Minc to flatten and speed the drying process. I stamped the sentiment in crisp Hero Arts black dye ink. To finish up I mounted the feather panel to the mat and adhered the combination to an A2 folded card base.
This, the quicker of the two cards, was created by masking the top portion of the Bristol card panel, leaving about and inch and a half exposed at the bottom. I then used Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers and Twisted Citron Distress ink to blend left to right, leaving the far right white. I spattered a bit of water, removed the masking and speed dried the panel with my heat tool. Then I stamped the dandelion in black dye ink. To finish up this quickie, I heat embossed a sentiment on a black scrap, adhered it across the panel and applied the panel to an A2 folded card base.
We don’t always, and maybe not even often, have a ton of time to craft. Don’t let that keep you out of your craft therapy sessions. Quickies are treat here and there too! 😉
