Welcome to the Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember Blog Party! Thank you kindly for popping in for a visit today. The STAMPtember Party is off to a fabulous start. If you haven’t had a chance to check out Simon’s full release you can do so HERE. To find all those participating in the blog party, and to hunt for more codes throughout, head to Simon’s Blog HERE.
I can tell you I dropped a hot penny or two on this release. Whew! I can’t wait to play and perhaps even film a few videos!
One of the items I purchased are the companion dies to the stamp set I am featuring today, XL Greetings. It was the focal point of THIS blog post, too. The dies are game changers! I love that they are shaped to fit the sentiment and are so much more than basic. They would have been a perfect addition to today’s card, but that is okay. Guess I’ll just have to make another! I’m not complaining about that one bit!

Recreate this project by stamping Spring Flowers Background onto #110 Neenah Solar White cardstock with Obsidian Black ink. When stamping with large background stamps I like to use roughly 6″ x 7″ cardstock. That way when stamping with my MISTI I can hang onto it with a magnet beyond the area that will be stamped in case I need to make more than one impression. I often stamp 2x – out of habit alone.

Trim panel to A2 (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″) now or Copic color the full design and then trim down to your favorite section of coloring. Made a booboo? Sometimes trimming after coloring can cut that right off! The background blue is colored nice and smooth by keeping a wet, saturated edge and using the natural design lines as stopping points. Color one section at a time for an even, no streak look.
Stamp XL Greetings, Hello, onto white cardstock, back with Gold Glitter paper and adhere to with foam tape. Attach finished card to folded card base.
Copic Colors:
Flowers: RV29, RV25, RV23 and a touch of R39 in the deepest recesses.
Background: B18
