Hello, friends! Welcome to the Simon Says Stamp Love You release! No, no, no, you are not mistaken, Simon did just have another fabulous release last week celebrating DieCember. This release is looking forward to February and celebrating all things Love. Hearts, flowers, love and gratitude – Simon has it all for you! Find a few of my favorite products below and the full release HERE.
The project I am sharing today features the You Have My Heart stamp set. It is gorgeous! Stamp it in black, stamp it in color, no-line color, watercolor, markers or pencils… any way you decide to use it is sure to be an eye catcher!
New Release Favorites
Recreate this project by Gold Glitter heat embossing the You Have My Heart stamp main stamp set and accessory pieces on Smoke cardstock. Color the design with you favorite colored pencils keeping the dark colors to the shadowed areas and the light to the areas that would catch light. The colors in Caran d’Ache pencils I used are listed below.
Caran d'Ache Luminance Colors:
Caran d’Ache pencils have quickly become a favorite in my craft room. Their superior lightfastness, smoothness of permanent lead, highly pigmented and non-waxy formulation are more than I ever expected from a pencil. The colors I have used for this project are:
Flowers: 599 Crimson Abergine, 350 Purplish Red, 571 Anthraquinoid Pink, 872 Burnt Ochre 10%
Accent Foliage: 001 White
Leaves: 185 Ice Blue, 729 Dark English Green, 214 Beryl Green, 181 Light Malachite Green, 470 Spring Green
As much as I prefer to use the coordinating dies for any stamp set, there are occasions where I just haven’t been able to get my hands on them. For this project I used my Brother Scan & Cut to “die cut” the images, but she was being cranky and didn’t want to “see” the lines of my sparkly embossed design accurately. Alas, I have a work-around for this dilemma!
I stamped the same exact design in black onto tracing paper to place over my already matted and embossed Smoke cardstock panel. I adhered it in place with micropore tape aligning the black stamped design over the embossed lines. then I set the machine to scan, removed the tracing paper and cut the design.
Since I nearly always use a MISTI Precision Stamp Tool and don’t remove the stamps until I am cleaning up after the project is complete, my design was already set up. I just had to ink it up in black. Quick fix for an annoying issue!
I’ll always do my best to link you to shops with products in stock. As you know, inventory levels are always fluctuating and therefore may not be available. Please use the retailer notification buttons to let them know you want more!
