Hello and welcome to the Simon Says Stamp DieCember Release! Can you believe that it is only 25 days until Christmas? 2020 is just keeping my on my toes the whole year through! Simon’s DieCember Release is all about, you guessed it, dies. There are so many awesome dies! I has to do a bit of shopping for myself…. I’m thinking they’ll look perfect under the tree!
Find a few of my favorite products below and the full release HERE.
The project I am sharing features the Sunflower Petals die set. I’ve paired it with items from a past release, the Peace dies and Old Letter cling stamp (an all time favorite!). I can see the “Sunflower” Petals dies made up in traditional holiday colors, spring, definitely summer and absolutely fall! Can you imagine layering the petals to look like a dinner plate dahlia?!?! Oh my goodness, I cannot wait to get back to the craft room! Stamps and dies are far too expensive to be single use. The more ideas and versatility, the better!

Recreate this project by ink blending an A2 (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″) Smooth Bristol panel with Distress Oxide Inks in Chipped Sapphire, Blueprint Sketch and Peacock Feathers. Darkest around the outside to a light glow in the center. Overlap colors to create a smooth transition. Once panel is completely dry ( if you are in a rush, zap it with your heat tool), White Detail heat emboss Old Letter. Trim panel down a smidge to allow for a white border. Adhere blended and embossed panel, popped up, onto white folded card base.

Die cut Sunflower Petals from any white Copic friendly paper. I used Smooth Bristol since that is what I already had out. Color petals with Copic markers in R30, R32 and R43. The darkest shade, R43 is at each end of the petal, then R32 and R30 for the center. Bend each petal with a gentle curve just using a finger and adhere to white sunflower center base. Then adhere the decorative center piece over top, popped up with foam tape. Adhere a full, half and quarter flower to blended panel. Then die cut Peace from Gold Glitter cardstock, and its background from white. Adhere popped in place over Sunflower. Then trim and adhere the Sentiment Strip tucked below.
Petals: R30, R32, R43
