Oh hey, hi there! Today I am hopping along with my friends over at Reverse Confetti for a special release, You Matter. My stamping may look a little different than others you’ll find along the hop… I’ve performed a bit of stamp surgery to separate the sets of hands to create a border. No worries, it easily reassembles on an acrylic block or stamp positioner to perform just as it was originally designed to!
Stamp surgery is simple, painless and a great way to stretch your stamps. Just trim between the raised stamping lines with small scissors. I prefer to make odd angled cuts where I can so that puzzling the set back together is a snap.
Recreate this project by stamping cut apart, You Matter, hand sets all the way around 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″ Polar White cardstock. Color images with various shades of skin tone Copic markers. Stamp sentiment in Midnight Black ink.
Create paper pieced rainbow background by cutting 1/4″ strips of Rose, Brick, Sunshine, Lime Green, Avocado, Iced Aqua, Baby Blue, and Royal Purple cardstocks. Adhere those strips in order, at an angle, to A2 (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″) cardstock with 2-sided dry tape. Allow strips to overhang edge of panel. I prefer to start at the top left corner nesting each strip up against the previous, but starting in the middle and working out has its advantages too. Once complete, flip to back and trim along edges of base cardstock. Adhere finished components together, adding dimensional adhesive where desired for additional detail, and then to a folded card base.
