Happy Freezin’ Season, friends! Brrr, I am such a sissy. Anything under 70 degrees and I’ve got at least a sweater on. Go away winter! Wait, what’s that you say? Winter hasn’t begun? Noooooo!
The only place I am a fan of winter is in my craft room. There are so many darling winter images! Today, I am sharing a few new release elements from My Favorite Things Stamps. These owls, you guys!?! Adorbs!
I began by die cutting the Snowflake Window into a panel of A2 (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″) 110# Neenah Solar White cardstock. I then ink blended with MFT hybrid ink in Purple Rain, Cornflower and Blu Raspberry with blending brushes and backed it to the snowflake opening. Adhere with liquid glue or dry sheet adhesive like Be Creative.
Stamp Warm & Feathered Hugs sledding owl onto 110# Neenah Classic Crest Solar White paper with MFT Extreme Black ink and Copic color. I colored the owl body first with C7, C6, N4, N2, and N0. Then I damped a rough terry cloth towel with Copic Blending Solution and dabbed lightly over the colored area. As it dried the speckled texture became more pronounced. I then added RV000 to his cheeks, Y32 to his beak and just a touch of E50 to his belly.
The trees were also created with Copic markers. Solid images, like these trees, never actually have to be stamped solid. Stretch those images by coloring directly on the stamp and then pressing onto cardstock. Do use a stamp postitioner though because you will need to make more than one impression. These trees were colored with E59, E37 and E35.
Die cut trees and owl and adhere in place, popping a few with dimensional adhesive. Stamp sentiment with crisp MFT Extreme Black.
