Lucky to Know You Shaker

St. Patricks Day is quickly approaching, but that doesn’t have to be the only time you tell your friends that you appreciate them! Today’s card features My Favorite Things, Mama Elephant, Little Things by Lucy and Ken Oliver Color Burst.

For this card you will want to begin by taking your favorite watercolor paper and wetting it thoroughly with a brush. Then lightly tap the Lime Green Color Burst powder above the dampened paper. Watch with amazement as the color blooms before your eyes. While that dries, stamp the large heart from the My Favorite Things All Heart stamp set in Copic friendly ink on Copic friendly paper. I used Momento Tuxedo Black ink and Neenah 110b Solar White cardstock. Color the hearts with Copic colors YG23, G14 and G05. Fussy cut the images and run a Black Copic marker, 110, around the edges for a finished look.

The Recollections gold glitter cardstock was a perfect as a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. I cut a 4.25″ x 5.5″ piece for the base layer of the card. I also used the same cardstock and the largest My Favorite Things Pierced Rectangle Square to create the frame. On the back of the frame I adhered a piece of acetate. Any sturdy clear plastic will work. In order to create the shaker, I pulled out a length of 3m foam tape, and folded it in half with the exposed adhesive sides together. I then trimmed the piece in half all the way through the long length in order for it to be narrow enough to hide behind the frame. Remove backer from one side and adhere to wrong side of frame.

Take the dry Color Burst watercolor paper and trim your favorite section to 3.75″ x 5″. Run an anti-static or powder tool over the paper to prevent any stray embossing. Stamp the sentiment, with Versamark ink, from the Mama Elephant Blessed stamp set and heat emboss with Ranger Gold Tinsel embossing powder.

Adhere the Color Burst sentiment piece to the glitter cardstock base. Mound Champagne sequins by Lucy Abrams near the middle. Throw in a few extra clover leaves for fun. Then adhere the fram in place over the sequins. Finally, construct the four leaf clover by layering the hearts in a circle, like a fan with one edge under and one edge over, the next leaf. Secure to a small piece of scrap paper to the back and create a stem. Glue your lucky four leaf clover to the front of the card and attach the completed layer to a card base. I prefer Neenah 110lb Solar White cardstock cut 5.5″ x 8.5″ scored and folded in half.

This card is an entry into the Sparkle and Shine challenge and the Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge. By using the diagonal line on the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge I was able to meet the parameters of both challenges. Click the links to check out the challenges, view entries and even play along!

Thank you for stopping by today. Enjoy your state of Creative Bliss today, whatever that may be!
