I know, I know. We are just getting started and I am over it already. Please tell me I am not alone. Maybe if the holiday decor and music didn’t start showing up the day after Halloween I could make it to Christmas. Don’t get me wrong, I adore my family and gift giving, but sometimes I sure feel all Bah-Humbug! For those days, a card like this would sure lift my spirits and put a smile on my face. Unexpected happy mail is awesome therapy!
I’ll tell you this, Mrs. Understand Blue herself, Lydia Fielder, recently recommended a paper trimmer. I have been through so many paper trimmers over the years. Either the guides break, they don’t cut square, they don’t cut cleanly – whatev’s. This is my dream trimmer. I am so in love with it. It’s not cheap, but it’s good. Oh so good! Meet the 12″ Rotatrim. Just makes my heart pitter-patter thinking about her! She cuts like buttah and handles a full 12″ paper, no problem. Perfectly square, smooth as silk, and now I just need to name her. <3
Oh, and I have a fun little giveaway too! Enter through the Rafflecopter widget below to win a set of Hero Arts Fir Tree Infinity Dies, Red Royal Mid-Tone Shadow Ink and Gold Shadow Ink. They are some of my favorite things this season!
To create this card I die cut a couple of the medium size of Infinity Fir Trees from vellum. I dipped a cotton swab into the Minc Reactive Mist and then ran that along the upper edges of the trees, like snow might be. Set that aside to get tacky and Sparkle heat emboss the Christmas Poster Background onto Blush Layering Paper. Create a mat with Gold Shadow Ink and the Stripe Bold Prints on Snow Layering Paper. Solid lines on big stamps can be difficult in one pass. A Misti, or other precision stamp tool, make repeat stamping a breeze.
Carefully place vellum trees, covered with gold foil (dull side to the trees) inside a carrier sheet and send through Minc Machine. Once they are through the machine gently reveal your shiny little treasure! Adhere striped mat to A2 folded card base, then red panel, then trees with vellum adhesive. Even though it works well with vellum, I still like to hide the adhesive as best I can. Here I did behind the 2 layers of trees and behind the sentiment. Heat emboss sentiment from Off-Beat Holidays Messages (OMGosh, the funniest set!) and pop with dimensional adhesive. Add a few Ombre Blush sequins for sparkle.

Lots of deep breaths to get us through this hustle and bustle of the holidays, friends! And a giveaway… giveaways really help. Don’t forget to go through the Rafflecopter widget to enter.
