Hiya friends! It’s always an exciting day when Hero Arts releases a new catalog to their shop! Today is that day and we’re celebrating with a blog hop and a giveaway or three… three $50 shopping sprees to the Hero Arts online shop! I say that is worth commenting for!
Featured amongst all the other amazingness in the new catalog is the Hero Arts and My Sweet Petunia co-branded MISTI. This is the original MISTI design, but in black. Yes, please! I have several MISTI’s and I cannot wait to add these beauties to my collection. I always feel like I need more. I use them in every project and often I have more than one project in progress… and those layering stamps?!? I set each layer up in a MISTI and leave them until I finish with that card. Often if I have more than one idea for the set I will leave it set up until I finish with them all.
They are, hands down, the best investment I have made in my crafting hobby. Keep your eye out, they’ll be ready to ship from Hero about the 15th of March. I am counting down the days! I don’t want you to hold your breath until then though. Head to the MISTI (available in the large scrapbooking size, regular, and mini) in the Hero shop to get notified. As soon as they hit the shelves, you’ll know!
Begin by stamping the first layer, leaves, in Lime to Forever Green Ombre ink on Dove White cardstock. Keeping the darkest shade of the Ombre trio at the back (top, in this case) of the design adds an extra level of depth and dimension. Align the second layer, leaves background, again in a MISTI and stamp solid in Forever Green. Repeat with layer three, sunflower background, in Rose Madder. Layer four, sunflower petals, in Crimson, and finally layer five, sunflower center, in black.
TIP: Allow each layer of ink to dry before adding another for a super crisp and clear image!
Stamp Circle Pattern Bold Prints on the bottom half or so of a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ Dove White cardstock panel in black. Die cut Sunflower Field and dry fit in place to easily align barn. Stamp barn in Crimson and sentiment in black. Pop the Sunflower Field in place with foam tape and adhere card to folded card base.
THE MORE YOU KNOW: Did you know that you can add liquid glue to the adhesive on the back of foam tape to provide wiggle room for that perfect placement? Oh yes, you can!
TIP: Don’t fret over just one MISTI, hedge your bets by stamping several in one go before setting up the next layer. If you’re a Color Layering lover consider subscribing to the Hero Arts Youtube channel where you’ll find the Color Layering with Yana series… and maybe add another MISTI to your birthday list!

For book lovers! Bookcase Peek-A-Boo Parts
I am an avid reader, or rather listener. I love to listen to books while I craft. Check out what I’m reading in my Goodreads list in the side bar on my blog posts or HERE on their site. If you’ve got a great recommend, I’ll take it. I enjoy listening based off of recommendation alone. I don’t even want to know what the book is about! My favorites seem to be true crime and historical fiction.
Giveaway: Hero Arts will giveaway 3 $50 shopping sprees to people who comment along the hop. Comment on as many blogs as you’d like – more comments means more chances to win! Comment by Wednesday Feb 19 at 11:59pm pst. The winner will be announced on the Hero Arts blog.
Thank you so much for hopping along and celebrating Hero Arts newest 2020 catalog!
I’ll always do my best to link you to shops with products in stock. As you know, inventory levels are always fluctuating and therefore may not be available. Please use the retailer notification buttons to let them know you want more!
