Welcome to the Hero Arts March My Monthly Hero card kit release hop! Here in Central California, the agricultural capitol of the world, spring has sprung and there are orchards upon orchards loaded with gorgeous blossoms. Some of the crop varieties have already begun to drop their blooms and leaf out, hence my card kit inspiration with variegated color!

Kit Project: Mount tree top in a MISTI Precision Stamp Tool. I use a MISTI for nearly all of my stamping, but especially for solid images. Stamp top 2/3rds in kit included Cotton Candy by tilting the ink pad and rocking or rolling the pad a bit. A soft edge should be created. If you do end up with a hard line, lightly dab off ink from the stamp with a paper towel, then stamp on Dove White cardstock. Repeat, if necessary. Repeat process on bottom 1/3rd of stamp with kit included Green Hills ink. Repeat again with kit included Rose Madder and Field Greens inks for the tree detail. Stamp trunk solid or employ same rock/roll technique. I did a bit of gradation with the trunk, as well, but the colors were too close to really see much depth: Caramel and Cup O’Joe. Adding texture with markers would also be great! Die cut images.

Stamp landscape in kit included inks, Green Hills and Field Greens. Copic color stepping stones with W2 and E30. Stamp sentiment in Intens-ified Black and trim down to 2 1/2″ish x 3″ish. Trim kit included Mist cardstock just slightly larger and adhere to back to create small border. Stamp 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ (A2) Dove White cardstock panel with add-on Waves and Clouds Bold Print in Soft Granite ink. Pop bordered landscape onto background with foam tape. Adhere tree on top with additional foam tape. Double up tape behind tree top for a level image. Adhere finished panel to folded card base.
You can find a full list of project supplies HERE.

Add-On Project: Mask bottom 2/3rds of 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ Dove White cardstock panel. Blend with Raspberry Jam, Soft Cantaloupe and Dandelion inks fading to white. Once ink is dry, dust with antistatic powder (I use cornstarch and a paint brush) and heat emboss Parasol Pattern Bold Print with White Satin Pearl embossing powder. Remove mask and stamp sentiment in Intens-ified Black ink.
A full project supply list is linked HERE.

Stamp Kittens in Kimonos image in Intens-ified Black ink. Mask kitten ear and face, stamp parasol or use separate die cuts. Copic color with B18, B16, B04 and BG01 for the kimono. Y18, Y13, Y11 and Y000 for the parasol and dress. Kitten is colored with E57, E34, E50, E0000 and RV10 for cheeks. Fussy cut if you’ve masked image together or die cut separates. Adhere image(s) to card panel with foam tape. Adhere finished panel to folded card base.
