Hello to you! In all the craziness of 2020, it seems so many are itching to jump to the end of year. Thanksgiving hasn’t even arrived and many have passed off the pumpkins and put up the tree. I’m not going to lie, it has crossed my mind too. Though, the holidays are such a sweet time with my family, we’ll be taking it slow and keeping with our traditions throughout Thanksgiving, Christmas and the New Year.
So while we are still adorned with all things autumn in our home I have, actually, made a Christmas card! This project can quite easily be adjusted to create ornaments for the tree or tags for gifts. No need to recreate the wheel with every project. Sometimes my brain just doesn’t have enough energy for that! I’ve used Hero Art’s Love Ornament, but Hero has also created Wish, Joy and Cheer coordinating designs.

Recreate this project by die cutting the Love Ornament in Dove White and Cherry cardstock. Mask to top half of the white love, and the circle below. Press embossing ink directly to the exposed lower half of love and ornament cap. Heat emboss with Gold Glitter. Emboss mini sentiment on Pitch Black cardstock with Gold Glitter, as well. White Satin Pearl emboss A2 (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″) Dove White cardstock with the gorgeous Christmas Rose. Using Cherry colored ornament as a template, lightly pencil in the inner circle. Color inside circle with Copic markers. Adhere Cherry and Dove White ornaments, slightly offset, and finish off by adding the ornament cap and black banner sentiment. Adhere finished panel to folded card base.
Copic Colors:
Flowers: R43, R32, R30
Leaves: YG17, YG13, YG00
Background: BG11
Create ornaments by cutting circles from the Christmas Rose print to adhere behind the die cut. Perhaps even adhere 3-4 white die cut layers together, fill with sequins, then a layer of acetate to seal the sequins inside and then a last heat embossed die cut over the top. Tags could be created the same!
I’ve used the Christmas Rose with Glimmer Metallic Inks on another project in this post. This stamp is a beauty and will live a long life in my collection!
Thank you for taking your time with me today. Wishing you peace amongst all the chaos of current days. Happy crafting!
