Hi there and welcome! I hope your summer is off to a splendid start! We’ve been a hoppin’ around here with a college graduation, moving kids home from college, and then back to the college to start grad school and summer jobs about 4 hours away. It’s a lot of busy work, but I’ll do about anything to spend time with my girls, and in Santa Barbara? You’ll hear no complaints from me! These crazy days will soon pass and then I’ll be repeating it with the little girls. I. Will. Not. Blink!
Today, I’m sharing all things hot air balloons. I’ve got two cards detailed here and a third on the Hero Arts blog. Let’s get to it!

Begin by die cutting the Garden Fancy die into an A2 (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″) panel of Sand card stock. Ink blend Soft Pink ink onto Antique Ivory card stock just large enough to fit behind die cut opening. White heat emboss Sky’s the Limit clouds over ink blending.

White heat emboss airplane onto die cut Sand panel, balloon onto a scrap of Sand and die cut, and the sentiment onto a strip of Sand. Color in details on each of the embossed elements with Prismacolor Pencils in Pink, Blush Pink, White, Beige Sienna and Colorless Blender. Pop large Sand panel over ink blended panel and then nest balloon into place. Pop sentiment into place and adhere finished panel to folded card base.

This card is another fun and easy one, and it is soooo pretty in person! Photos just don’t do it justice! Create by embossing Hot Air Bloom in White Satin Pearl on Plum card stock. Spotlight ink blend with Grape Juice ink from the edges in.

Color balloon in Prismacolors in White, Apple Green, Parma Violet, Hot Pink, Blue Violet Lake, Jasmine and Dark Brown with a touch of Colorless Blender for the basket.

White heat emboss clouds and birds. Stamp flag in Black Dye ink onto Dove White card stock and die cut. Add a light grey shadow to the flag edges and and pop above the basket. Adhere finished card to folded card base.

I created this card with the more nostalgic version of a hot air balloon with the From The Vault Travel stamp set and Grape Slush, Blue Hawaii, Pool Party and Key Lime Fizz Reactive Inks. You can find the details for it HERE on the Hero Arts blog.
One of these three is a specific thank you card, but the other two are fantastic stash builders. When the need arises, I just grab one from my drawer and add a happy birthday, congratulations, or whatever the occasion requires to the interior sentiment. Voila, I am ready to go!
Have an amazing day and I’ll see you soon! Happy crafting!
xo, Janette

These are all so gorgeous! I love how you colored the flowers on the thank you card. 🙂
Wow!!! Gorgeous!! Love the flower balloon!!
These are so so pretty. And you are far too young to have college age kids!
Wonderful cards! I especially love the flowered balloon!!!!!
I love each one of these…wonderful designs!
I love all three of your beautiful cards Janette, but I have my preference, I find the one on the kraft cardstock stunning! Don’t ask why because I normally am not a soft colour girl but this was I love.
Thank you for sharing, also on the Hero Arts blog, and for your awesome inspiration.
WOW, I love the flower balloon. I’m surprised that the colors show up so well against the background–now I will have to try alcohol markers on darker paper. I also love the little airplane you added to the corner of your focus on the other card. NICE!!!!!
