Hi! Who’s thinking about Christmas? Yeah, me neither, for the most part. Christmas stresses me out! I do like to get a jump on things so when the craziness of the holidays take over, I don’t get overwhelmed. I prefer to make one of cards so when I am inspired to create one, even on a 100* day, I do. When the holidays roll around I’ll already have a stack ready to go. The rest of the time, Christmas is outta’ my mind!
I actually created this Christmas Wishes card a couple of months ago as a sample for Hero Arts. It made their new winter catalog and travels to trade shows. So fun, right? Anytime something I create shows up in print or represents a company I am honored, amazed, proud, flattered…. all the things! So, imagine my surprise when I heard Scrapbook and Cards Today magazine wanted to feature my card, along with a couple of Hero Arts teammate projects, on their blog as a part of their Partner Celebration Spotlight. Woohoo! Pretty confident an audible squeal left my lips!
The card is simple and classic. I’ll share the how-to’s and product links below. Check that out if you are interested in the details. Then head on over to Scrapbook and Cards Today (a.k.a. SCT Magazine) to view my teamies projects, and I hear there is a giveaway too, HERE!
The Snowflake and Ornament Fancy Die is a set of 2. The outer portion is the ornament shape and the inner is the snowflake circle. They can be used together or snipped apart to use separately. The focal point of this project is the snowflake circle, but I did use the ornament shape to trace around as a guide for how large of an area to ink blend. Once I penciled that in on Snow Layering Paper, I ink blended with Mint Julep, Summer Sky and then Grape Juice with Mini Ink Blending Tools.
Next, die cut snowflake circle into 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ Snow Layering Paper. Add a touch of liquid glue on the back right around the circle of the snowflake panel and a dot here and there on the snowflake centers. Center inked panel and adhere in place. Apply your favorite dimensional adhesive and adhere the panel combination to a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ Snow Folded Card base. Die cut Wishes from Gold Shimmer Paper and heat emboss sentiment from Polar Greetings. Pop sentiment strip with additional dimensional adhesive. Add a few Champagne Mix sequins.
Crisp and classy for the win! Thank you for spending a few minutes celebrating with me today. I appreciate your company. Be sure to extend your support over at SCT Magazine and subscribe. They are one of the last few papercrafting publications!
