This Month's Add-On Collection
For a night out under the stars I opted for a slimline card. Measuring in at 3 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ (standard envelope sized, A10) for room to squeeze on several designs.

Create this fun design by die cutting the US Map with scrap paper. Mark your location with a dot and then draw lines radiating out from it. Number each space and then cut apart on the lines. Use the slices as a template to create wedge shaped cardstock sections in a rainbow of colors. The “V” shape of the wedge and straight edges are what is important. The border of the map doesn’t matter as long as the cardstock extends beyond it. Adhere all wedges to a sheet of copy paper nestled against one another beginning on one side and working in order all the way around.
Once all segments are adhered in place, align US Map die, secure with washi tape and die cut. Die cut included heart, or other location marker, with gold glitter cardstock. Adhere map popped in place with foam tape on 4″ x 5 1/2″ Dove White cardstock. Pop heart in place, as well. Stamp sentiment from Tie Dye set in Intens-ified Black. Adhere black stamped Leafy Bold Print strip along length of folded card base. Then adhere finished primary panel in place.
Admittedly, this card is easier for someone who lives near the border of the country. If you want to do this positioning your location in the interior of the US somewhere, using a die like this (possibly cutting 2x for narrower sections) would make it much simpler.
I created this card, with the kit, for the Countdown to Creativity over on the Hero Arts blog. A little ink blending with Indigo, Aegean, and Soft Brown and Copic coloring help set the mood for this sanctuary. You can find all the details for it HERE.
Giveaway: Hero Arts will give away one $50 gift card, drawn from the comments left across the hop. Enter by Sunday, August 9th at 11:59pm pacific, and the winner will be announced on the Hero Arts blog the following week.
