Hello friends! I come to you in the week between Christmas and New Years when I, for one, have no idea what day of the week it is or what exactly I am supposed to be doing. This happens to me every year, in probably what is my most favorite week. Perhaps that is why it is at the top of my list. I don’t know, I don’t want to know, and I’m just rolling with it!
Today, I am sharing a sweet “Missing You” card created with Hero Arts products. Each year I resolve to stay better connected with friends. How better to bring a smile to their face than with happy mail that shows up in a mailbox full of what could be after Christmas bills?
To begin, mix 4 drops Deep Ocean Liquid Watercolor, 1 drop Moss Liquid Watercolor and 1 teaspoon or so of White Iridescent Shimmer mist. Apply mixture in a horizontal strip across top of liberally water wet Smooth Bristol paper. Tilt paper up to allow the mixture to drift naturally down the paper. I chose to leave mine larger than traditional A2 so that, once dry, I could trim down to capture the best part of the piece.
Stamp Antique Rose Stem (available in both clear [with sentiments] and wood block [without] format) in Intense Black and emboss clear. I colored the petals in Wine Red and Deep Red Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. Light Brown Zig for the stamen, and I paired up Olive and Deep Greens for the leaves. Once dry, die cut image.
Die cut Heart into A2 Snow Layering Paper and white emboss sentiment (from clear Antique Rose Stem stamp set) onto black cardstock. Layer heart panel with foam tape over trimmed down watercolor panel. Adhere rose, sentiment and sequins in place and apply to folded card base.
Thank you for spending a few minutes with me today. May your New Year be filled with love, prosperity, laughter and all the crafty mojo!
