Hiya friends! Today, it is my privilege to be joining Hero Arts and Concord & 9th for a collaborative hop in continued celebration of Hero Arts 45th Anniversary. The two companies have come together to create products that are designed to be used together. The community over competition theme continues to thrive throughout the stamping industry and that just makes me so happy!
A special “Partners” Hero Arts + Concord & 9th 6×8 clear set, and other related products, is available now on www.HeroArts.com, and will be available elsewhere online and in a store near you starting July 10, 2019.
Intimidated by Concord & 9th’s Turnabout stamps? Fear not! Angie, of C9, has created an awesome video HERE featuring the universal Turnabout Jig that makes aligning each Turnabout a snap.
Turnabouts can be stamped in 1 to 4 colors, embossed or any combination thereof. The back of the packaging on each Turnabout shows how the stamp looks with one turn and color, all the way through four. So versatile!

Today’s card was created for a pretty exciting event in our family. You guys, we have kept a human alive through college! She did it! My first born, my mini-me, my lil’ type A, my stubborn I-will-succeed-no-matter-what kiddo, graduated the picturesque University of California at Santa Barbara with her Bachelors degree in Mathematics! Whoop, whoop! My girl had a week off of school and then dove straight into her UC Master’s program to become one of the most underrated professions, an elementary teacher. She also plans to earn a second credential for single subject education in math at the high school level (though her heart is truly with the littles). I made today’s card for her. Of course, I had to use blue and gold because that is the color of all of the University of California campuses, but it was her high school colors, too. She bleeds blue and gold!
I followed Angie’s Turnabout tutorial and set up the Props Turnabout in my Original MISTI. I then stamped it in Dandelion ink at the 1 and 3 position, and then in Indigo in the 2 and 4 position on Dove White card stock.
Then, I stamped the sentiment panel in the same colors and die cut it with the coordinating Hero Arts Rounded Rectangle Infinity die. While I had the die handy, I inked up a scrap of Dove White card stock with the same Dandelion ink by swiping the pad across the paper a few times for solid color and die cut it.
I also inked the edges of an A2 Dove White card stock panel with Indigo ink to create a border for the trimmed Turnabout panel (4 1/16″ x 5 5/16″). I adhered each layer together with fun foam and Precision Glue, applied to a folded card base, and added a few sequins for sparkle. I added a fat congratulations and a handwritten heartfelt message for my girl, along with some cold hard cash (truly a college girl’s best friend).
My mama heart is so proud! She worked dang hard!
