The Ton Stamps October Release

The Ton Stamps October Release

Hello there my friends! I am back today featuring The Ton Stamps new Thankful Chrysanthemum for their Special October Release. Effie has teamed up with the amazing Eun Ji Jung, a Ton design team member, with many of the stamps created for October. I’m so excited to be participating in the hop today. You know I have undying love for florals and The Ton Stamps. I cannot wait to see where Eun Ji takes us with her amazing designs. She blows me away!

View all of the other talented design team members and special guests by following the links at the bottom of this post!

A simple card is all this gorgeous stamp needed. I stamped it on Gina K Artist’s Choice cardstock (perfect for pencils!) in The Ton’s Caviar Hybrid ink and colored it with Prismacolor pencils. I used only the pencils in the image at the top. Just 7, that’s it. I started with the darker purple hue at the base of each petal then blended through each lighter shade a smidge further into each petal. I left the tips white for highlight.

The shaker was created with In The Navy Cardstock by Gina K (her cardstock is my favorite!) and Hero Arts Acetate (which is super sturdy, yes!). Die Cut the circle, adhere acetate to the back and build walls with foam tape. Make sure to leave no gaps where clear rhinestones can escape. Adhere the back panel and card base. Heat emboss a sentiment and pop on the front along with your die cut colored image.

Blog Hop

We’re giving away one stamp of choice from our October Release to a commenter! To qualify, you must leave a comment on each blog on the hop. The comment period will close on Sunday, October 29 at 7pm EST. The winner will be announced on The Ton blog thereafter.

Thank you so much for hopping along today. Carry on!

The Ton’s Fall 2017 Release – Day 3

The Ton’s Fall 2017 Release – Day 3

Day 3 of The Ton Stamps new Fall 2017 Release just might be my favorite! If you know me well, you know I am a red girl. Red office supplies, red luggage, red, red, red… Given that, red poinsettias are perfection. Other colors are fun too, but oh red, I love you so! My projects today are in red, aqua and silver ( <3 ). I’m featuring the Poinsettia Banner and Cozy Poinsettia stamp sets.

For The Ton’s Fall 2017, Effie has released 24 new stamp designs, coordinating dies and 6 new couture mixes! There are three new gifts with purchases that you can obtain with this new release. You can find the details to this promotion here.

View the other talented design team member daily release posts by following the links at the bottom of this post!

  • Stamp Poinsettia Banner in Versamark on smooth bristol paper and white heat emboss.
  • Color image with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and a water brush. I only used 5 Zigs total. A pinky-red, an olive green, a brown, an aqua and a dark grey. Place color direct from Zig where you want the darkest color to be and then blend toward lightest area with water brush.
  • For background, color zig onto craft mat. Add several drops of water, pick up with water brush and blend onto paper.
  • Once dry, stamp sentiment in Golden Glitz Delicata ink.
  • Adhere The Ton’s Adhesive Silver Glitter paper onto A2 folded card base.
  • Adhere dry poinsettia panel to card base.
  • Adhere Blue Ice Couture Color Sequins.
  • Stamp Cozy Poinsettia in Versamark on smooth bristol paper and white heat emboss.
  • Color image with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and a water brush. For this card I only used 3 Zigs total. A pinky-red, an olive green, and an aqua. Place color direct from Zig where you want the darkest color to be and then blend toward lightest area with water brush.
  • For background, color zig onto craft mat. Add several drops of water, pick up with water brush and blend onto paper.
  • Use fuse tool and a fuse sleeve to create a pocket that will finish at 3″ x 5.5″. Leave a long side open, fill with Sugar Cookie Couture Color Sequins and fuse close the open side.
  • Cut a 6″ x 5.5″ card base from Lawn Fawn Mermaid cardstock. Score at 1.75″ and fold card to create a base that is 5.5″ wide with a 1.75″ flap.
  • Trim around bottom edge of Cozy Poinsettia so that the trimmed panel measure about 3.75ish” x 5.5″.
  • Stamp sentiment in Golden Glitz Delicata ink on poinsettia panel (before or after trimming is fine, I prefer after just so that I don’t smudge it).
  • Adhere sealed edge of shaker pocket to front side of card base.
  • Adhere Cozy Poinsettia panel over sealed edge of shaker, matching the top to the top of the folded card base.

Globe Greetings

Globe Greetings

Wowzers, it’s Fri-yay again, my friends! Boy, that snuck up quick this go around. Is it me or do you all feel like time just keeps ticking away faster and faster? Geez! I really could use and 8th day a week. One that doesn’t count – free – that doesn’t really exist in the grand scheme of things. We can all have it each week, we just don’t count it. It’s like a secret between us all. We can do that, right? No biggie?

Oh, good. Now that we have that established, lets chat about Concord & 9th!  Today’s post is week 2 of 4 guesting over at Concord & 9th for their #C9FeatureFridays. So much fun for me, I hope it is for you too! You can find week 1’s post here, featuring the fabulous Oh, Hello Turnabout stamp set.

Globe Greetings and Dies are the featured sets of the day. Globes have been so popular recently in home trends it is no surprise they have made the leap to the papercrafting market. I added a commencement cap from a random clip art outline I found with a Google search to create the perfect card for recent college graduate.

The cap is colored with Copic Markers in C2, C4, C6, C8 ad C10 ( I like to get mine from Carpe Diem Markers). The Bouquet is in The Ton Crystal Pewter Couture Ink (linked below).

This amazing earth was created with the C9 Globe Greetings die. One pass through the machine and the chipboard was cut cleanly through.

I then layered a wood cutting board covered in parchment paper, then the Versamarked chipboard die cut covered in little mounds of embossing powder and another piece of parchment paper on top. I heat through the paper to the embossing powder until well melted pressing it down here and there with the heat tool. Once fully melted, I pulled off the parchment paper while still hot. The result is an awesome marble effect.

Be super careful of the heat to yourself and surfaces nearby. I have seen a few heat tools die with this technique, as well. Be sure to not let them overheat! The sentiment was added with black StazOn ink.

This globe began with 4 layers of black cardstock stacked after heat embossing the top layer in white, and stamping the continents in Versamark Dazzle Frost. The Dazzle is shimmery in person, but super hard to photograph.

I stamped the bouquet in several shades of blue and green (all linked below) and cut them out. I just layered them up and then placed Glad Press & Seal over the top and applied firm pressure in order for me to be able to pick them all up together, flip them over and add liquid glue to the back. Then they were easily flipped and popped right back into their spot with no shifting.

Last, but not least, a quickie shaker! The background was made with Distress Inks, acetate was stamped with StazOn black ink and then it was load with shimmery, sparkly clear sequins and beads. Makes for a great masculine thank you card, even if it does have sequins. You know those guys like to shake, shake, shake too!

Thank you for taking a peek into my Creative Bliss today. I hope you’ve been inspired by the Concord & 9th Globe Greetings stamp and die set!

I’m off to Vegas for the weekend! Enjoy yours, wherever you may be!

xoxo, Janette

You Got This

You Got This

Welcome to my Creative Bliss! I am so pleased to be sharing with you. Today, I bring you a little game we played over at The Ton Stamps, Tic Tac Toe. The inspiration for this month’s challenge is not theme related, but technique related. Think of playing like Tic Tac Toe – using the items from either a row across, down or diagonal, just like all the ways you can win.

A Misti stamp positioner tool is quite helpful for this card. I began by stamping Pretty Mail in Caviar Hybrid ink, then Versamark, then heat setting with clear embossing powder on Bristol paper. Next, I loosely painted with Twinkling H20’s, a super sparkly watercolor. As that was drying I created the ethereal background by wetting the paper and then scribbling in with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I then helped the color move a bit here and there with a waterbrush. Once completely dry, I die cut the center of the watercolored panel, adhered acetate (aka recycled stamp packaging!) to the back along with 2 layers of foam tape to make a chamber for the shaker contents.

I then began assembling from the bottom up: Folded A2 card base at the bottom, then sparkly black cardstock, white sentiment panel (aligned carefully using light pencil markings), sequins, and then finally the watercolored panel. It has definitely turned out to be one of my recent favorites!

You can find this card as design team inspiration over at The Ton Stamps Challenge Blog. As you can see, I went top left to bottom right. How will you play? Up for grabs is a $50 gift certificate to The Ton Stamps retail shop.

Come play along and see what all the fuss is about! And even if you choose not to enter, it is a great place to check out inspiration created with The Ton products by the design team and by all the entrants. View contestant entries or enter your own by clicking the blue froggy InLinkz button near the bottom of the post. You can also search Instagram and Facebook using #thetonchallenge!

Thanks to you for popping in and taking the time to read about my latest Creative Bliss!

xoxo, Janette
