Pink Metallic Mist on Bristol paper is amazing, on Neenah not so much. When it is misted on Neenah the color absorbs into the paper and leaves a silvery sparkle, which, don’t get me wrong, could be great if that is the look you are after. I wasn’t. I wanted the pink to stand out. I opted for spritzing it onto plastic stamp packaging and then smooshing it onto Bristol paper. The Bristol paper has a smooth coating and keeps the color on the surface and still dries well. Win, win!
I used two Nesting Hearts to create a chipboard heart frame and coated it with several layers of Gold embossing powder. I stamped an adorbs Cherub in Crimson ink and die cut. I attached a couple of banners, one with a sentiment and the other made up of Tiny Hearts. I adhered everything in place and used a Tiny Attacher for the banners.
The Pink Metallic Mist on this card was first sprayed onto a swirl stencil. I was using the stencil in a more traditional fashion for this card and thought well I don’t want to waste all of this loveliness on the stencil itself. So I carefully moved the stencil to a dry area of my craft mat and placed an A2 Bristol panel on top. I let it sit a moment for good color transfer and then revealed patterned goodness.
After stamping the sentiments in Intense Black ink and heat embossing the heart in the center, I trimmed the panel down a touch and adhered it to a black Midnight Layering paper. Makes for a simple card, easily mailed. Perfect quickie to give to those in which you want to share your handmade kindness, but think they probably don’t value it the same way we do. We all have those people in our lives. It doesn’t mean they are less deserving, just perhaps a quicker card!
Remember, cards don’t have to be complicated and time consuming to be meaningful. Get creating and get them in the mail to put a smile on someone you cherish. Share your Creative Bliss! <3
P.S. If you have a stamp set in your stash you’d like to see a card with, pease drop me a note through my contact page. If I have it, I’ll see what I can do!
I’ll always do my best to link you to shops with products in stock. As you know, inventory levels are always fluctuating and therefor may not be available. Please use the retailer notification buttons to let them know you want more!
If you’ve got a Hobby Lobby in your area they have clearance steals going on now. (Well, most – it hasn’t seemed to make it to the west coast yet). And while I encourage you to shop small companies like Ellen Hutson, Butterfly Reflections Ink, Simon Says Stamp and local shops you shouldn’t feel bad about popping into a big box retailer here and there. They employ thousands of people just like us!Clearance Steals
