Isn’t she lovely?!? This card is comprised of the Dahlia Close Up and the Brushed Love stamp sets.

This card was created by simply heat embossing with a sparkly embossing powder and then watercoloring. Watercolor is truly an easy medium. I use two paint brushes, one for the paint and one for clean, clear water. I line the edge of the area to be colored with paint, set that brush aside and the drag the water along the edge of the paint with the water only brush. The paint blooms across the wet are for a beautiful blended effect.

Once the image is completely air dry, I stamp the sentiment in The Ton Color Couture Black Hybrid ink, Caviar. Given that this is on a rough watercolor paper it will need more than one impression for a crisp solid black image. The Misti Precision stamp tool makes that step a breeze.

Next up is a scenery card created with Scenes: Fountain Terrace, Freestyle Stripes, The New Pretty and City Girls Park Life.

You may have noticed how nicely The Ton designs their stamps so that they can play together well. I love that. I want to be able to use my stamps in a multitude of combinations. Sets by The Ton have endless possibilities.

I wonder if you can guess what was stamped first on this card?…. Did you guess the girl? If so, you are correct! Whatever element of your design you want to appear in the front needs to be stamped first. She is relatively detailed so instead of cutting a mask for her, I used a quick drying masking fluid.

I then went on to stamp the fountain scene and fluid masked anything along or in the way of the skyline. That ombre sky is a snap when you can create a wash across the entire horizon simultaneously.

The sentiment is heat embossed white upon black cardstock and accented with Freestyle Stripes in The Ton Color Couture – Cosmopolitan Pink Hybrid Ink.
