Can you tell I am itching for summer?!? Flamingos all the way! I created these cards with primarily Fresh Cut Sunflowers and dies and Darling Flamingos, though I’ll have all the products linked up below. These 2 stamp sets are layering stamps. They seem complicated, but really aren’t. My trick to aligning them is the lightest layer first, then place a sheet of acetate or excess stamp packaging over the stamped image. Align the second and one step darker stamp, as best you can. Ink it up and stamp right onto the acetate. It won’t be a perfect image but it will show you if you have good placement. Clean acetate with wipee or alcohol and continue until you get it just right. Once you are satisfied, remove acetate to stamp directly on your image. Continue this process through all of the layers and you will be amazed at the beauty you create!
I couldn’t decide which of the cards I liked best, so you get both! One can never have enough birthday cards in the stash anyway, right?
They are basically the same cards with slight variations. Both have a circle cut into them and backed with white cardstock. The black has the back white layer adhered directly, where the white card has a foam tape layer between the background layer. I thought it was a fun detail to add dimension with a flower peeking up recessed behind the others. Of course, I think they are both spectacular and can’t wait to send these surprises in the mail. Imagine the smile on that unsuspecting friend’s face!
I had so many inquiries into a recent Instagram post that I thought I’d actually edit the video that I had shot. I do that sometimes… shoot it and then run myself out of time – can I just get one more day in the week, please? Anywho – it’s a quickie on how to die cut accurately, enjoy!
