I’m a California girl. I love the sunshine, the endless beaches and dipping my toes into the Pacific. Okay, so not exactly. I do enjoy the ocean, but I love the San Joaquin Valley more. I love the heat, the sweet smell of orange blossoms and the sound of wind machines purring on the coldest of nights. Every year I look forward to the state flower of California blooming, the Golden Poppy. Not only are the hills I drive by each morning bathed in them, but growing up my grandmother had bushels of poppies growing in her yard. Awe, I love and miss her so!

When I saw this rambunctious poppy stamp set by The Ton, of course it had to be mine. Those childhood memories could not be persuaded otherwise!

To make this bundle of poppies even more unruly, like I remembered them, I combined Thoughtful Poppies and the Fresh Cut Poppies Coordinating Outlines using Vintage Sepia Versafine ink. A little Winsor and Newton masking fluid was all I needed to add those extra stragglers without unnecessary crossover lines. I then watercolored with my favorite Daniel Smith Watercolors, stamped the sentiment in Caviar ink and applied to an A2 card base.

Thank you so very much for dropping by to take a gander. I appreciate our patronage!

May your day be sunny and brilliant!
