Strong is the New Pretty. And we have no shortage of this mantra in our house with four daughters. Each are strong, independent and fierce. A couple have a little more firecracker than the others, but they come by that naturally (insert cheesy grin here).

We celebrate strength in our home. The Ton Stamps, The New Pretty stamp set, fit our sentiments with perfection.

A few of the butterflies on this card overlap, but with this technique, no masking is needed. Amen to that! Simply stamp your images in a very light ink. Watercolor friendly or not, you are painting over it and simply using it as a shadow of a guideline. I like to use a color similar to what I will be painting so if I miss a spot or paint shy of the line it will not be noticeable. Then paint each as you wish. Do note any place you have overlapped your images and paint the one you want in front first. Let each image to dry completely before painting any others that may touch it or you will risk bleeding. Unless that is the look you are going for – and that would be awesome too!

If I find that my watercolor paper remains warped after fully drying, I run it through my Minc machine (basically a laminator) to be nicely ironed flat. I don’t even use a carrier sheet for this – but do so at your own risk.

To complete the card I Versamark and then heat embossed the sentiment with The Ton’s Rose Gold embossing powder on vellum. Adhere to the card by only placing Multi Medium Matte behind the embossing as to not show through the vellum. Add to a folded card base and its ready to lend a little encouragement as a bright spot in someone’s day.

I’ve entered this card into the new Challenge over at The Ton Stamps Challenge Blog. This months cue word is Celebrate. Up for grabs is a $50 gift certificate to The Ton Stamps retail shop.

Come play along and see what all the fuss is about! And even if you choose not to enter, it is a great place to check out inspiration created with The Ton products by the design team and by civilians like you and I. View contestant entries or enter your own by clicking the blue froggy InLinkz button near the bottom of the post.

Thanks to you for popping in and taking the time to read about my latest Creative Bliss!
