Hello, my friends! Today, I come to you with a little “Distress Ink” and Concord & 9th… or rather “de-stressing!” Let me just say, these last few weeks of summer vacation have left me needing a bit of de-stressing! I, and the children both, are ready for the routine of the school year! I love the ease summer brings, and yet I crave routine at the same time.
Distress inks, what can you not do with them? I mean really! Okay, so they really aren’t great to stamp an image with, but aside from that they are one of the most versatile staples in my craft room. I have just the mini cubes and those seem to be sufficient for my needs. For the background on this card I smooshed Picked Raspberry, Festive Berries and Abandoned Coral on a craft mat. I picked up the ink with a water juiced round size 4ish paint brush and scribbled it over the watercolor paper background. Repeat for each color and let dry. Add another layer or two (drying in between) to your satisfaction.
With the background set aside, stamp the cake from the Concord & 9th Eat Cake set in Copic friendly ink. I like to stamp it 2x with my Misti for a nice crisp black. I then colored the cake image with Copic markers in R20, R22, RV14, Y35, 0, C00, C1 and C3. Fussy cut or die cut with coordinating die. With the Distress Inked background completely dry, I stamped the sentiment – again with the Misti. For the final touches I trimmed the top and bottom of the card with accent paper, popped stamped image with 3M foam tape, applied Nuvo White Blizzard to frosting and adhered Pretty Pink Posh sequins in Fairytale Fuchsia and Strawberry Burst. Delightful, I say!
You must know by now that I only use products I adore. This company is no exception. I own many of their stamp sets and always find them so inspiring! I have raved in posts using their products a few times before. Head on over to the You are Loved set and the From First Glimpse card here. I dare you to not be inspired!
Catch you all again soon! I am off to Back to School Night and then a late evening full of Creative Bliss! School Starts tomorrow!
