I have created two cards for you here, but rest assured that I have more to post with the new release over the next short while. In fact, you’ll find a few sneak peeks below! As per the usual, my credit card welcomes the sizzle from the purchase of the entire release. #MustHaveAllThingsTheTon

When you look closely at the woodsy stamped images you will notice that I inked up with more than one color on each stamp for added interest. For this technique, cover your stamp in your chosen primary color first, then simply rock the inked stamp along the edges in a 2nd and/or 3rd color. The berries are in Lipstick Red and/or Valentine Red with Dark Roast. The pine cones are in Dark Roast and Noir. The small leaflets are in Spiced Chai and Dark Roast. The pine greenery is in a few combinations of Everglade Moss, Deep Emerald, and /or Bright Fern. All inks are Couture Color by The Ton, they are divine!
I arranged each fussy cut image on top of a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ panel without adhesion. Once the placement was perfect, I pressed Glad Press and Seal over the top and rubbed it firmly to make sure each image would stay put. This method allows for all the images to stay exactly where I want them so that I can flip it over and add adhesive tape to the back. Turn it back to the front and adhere to card panel. I embossed a scalloped rectangle and the Holiday Confetti sentiment with The Ton’s gorgeous Rose Gold embossing powder. Once the sentiment panels are in place, trim the edges of the card of any overhanging images.
This watercolor card was created by first stamping and embossing the girl carrying her “therapy” packages on watercolor paper. I then masked her and stamped/embossed the taxi. Then, mask the taxi and stamp/emboss the background image. Remember, when creating scenes always stamp the image you want in the front first and work to the back.
I don’t have a particular starting point for watercolor. I just go with whatever area inspires me first. For this card, it was the architecture of the building. I wet the area, dropped color in and then moved on to another non-touching section.
For more a more precise look I pick up color on my brush and apply, then with clean clear water blend out. A split water container is a must have for me, one side for rinsing and the other for clean clear water. As areas dry go back and add more layers, again and again… as many times as it takes to create depth and detail you are looking for. Another tip: take a picture of your entire card, your phone will do. This allows you to see the images through a reducing glass of sorts and provides a different perspective. You may be surprised by what you see! I often enjoy the cards I create in still images even more than when my nose is up to it working on it. Try it, let me know what you think!
